The St. Charles, Illinois, Police Department patch depicts the Fox River, which runs through the city. In the background is the art deco clock tower for the St. Charles Municipal Building, constructed in 1940, which serves as the seat of local government. This tower has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1991. The city’s slogan is “The Pride of the Fox.”
