The shoulder patch of the Branford, Connecticut, Police Department.

The Branford, Connecticut, Police Department patch is an ode to the Branford Town Center and Green, which has a rich history with its beautiful marble town hall, built in 1857 and used to house the old court. Two churches flank each side of the town hall: First Congregational Church, built between 1840-1845, and Trinity Episcopal Church, built in 1852 and known for its large red door. Additionally, the town seal, shown near the bottom of the patch, is flanked by the U.S. and Connecticut state flags. It shows the original First Congregational Church, whose members founded the town in 1644.
