The patch of the River Vale, New Jersey, Police Department features a symbol commemorating the Baylor Massacre, a British attack during the Revolutionary War. This historic crusade resulted in approximately 69 Americans killed, wounded, or taken prisoner in present-day River Vale. A memorial park in the township preserves the burial site of the slain soldiers.
