Monroe, New York, Police Department

The Monroe, New York, Police Department patch features a gristmill, adopted in 1994 as the village symbol. Located in central Monroe, the gristmill represented the earliest industry in the town. It was initially used for milling grain and eventually converted to a sawmill until it was destroyed by fire in the 1920s.
