The shoulder patch of the Peabody, Massachusetts, Police Department.

At the center of the Peabody, Massachusetts, Police Department’s patch is the George Peabody Coat of Arms. Originally, Peabody was part of Salem until 1855, when it broke off and became South Danvers. As it grew and added population and farming, it renamed itself the town of Peabody. Continuing to grow, Peabody eventually established itself as a city in 1916.
