Boxford, Massachusetts, was a large producer of toothpicks in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The patch of its police department shows a depiction of a horse-drawn carriage with timber taken to or from a mill to make the product. The rural town still has many active farms. Pictured animals reflect the farming and agricultural roots of the area.
