The shoulder patch of the Orange, Connecticut, Police Department.

The Orange, Connecticut, Police Department patch was designed using the coat of arms for William of Orange, a former king of England (1650-1702) who originally signed to colonial settlers the land grant of what is now the town of Orange. Below the coat of arms are the U.S. and Connecticut flags, representing town, state, and country. The year 1822 is when the town was established.
