Image of the Carroll, New Hampshire, Police Department shoulder patch.

The patch of the Carroll, New Hampshire, Police Department features the Presidential Range mountains, which include Mount Washington—the tallest east of the Mississippi River and home to the world’s highest recorded wind gust. In front is the Mount Washington Hotel, the largest wooden structure in the state and where the historic Bretton Woods Conference, which established the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, took place. Also featured is a bull moose; Carroll has many, and tourists visit to view them. The villages of Twin Mountain and Bretton Woods make up the town.
