The Brighton, New York, Police Department patch features Fort Schuyler, a trading post built in 1721 to establish relationships between the English and Seneca Nation of Indians. Over time, the cabin deteriorated, so a replica now stands in Ellison Park just outside Brighton. The patch also features the year the town was formed.
