The Urbana, Ohio, Police Division patch, created by a local high school student, depicts the “Man on the Monument” statue of a Union cavalry officer with his head bowed in grief for fallen comrades. On either side are the U.S. and Ohio state flags. Located in the center of the city’s roundabout, the memorial features the words “In memory of those brave men of Champaign County who died in the war to save the Union, 1861-1865.”
